Gotta Get It Now

        Featuring Joe Melendrez

Recently, Chipotle Restaurant held an essay contest asking entrants to express their passion for Chipotle.

Joe Melendrez, a student at U. of Dayton submitted his story, telling how Chipotle had actually helped break his writers block. He went a step further by showing his inspiration in a rap that conveyed his passion for the great food at Chipotle.

Not only did Joe's entry wow the judges, but his performance brought down the house. He was declared the winner by a unanimous decision. Watch and enjoy, "Gotta Get It Now!"

“Gotta Get It Now”

- by Joe Melendrez

Sometimes life gets rough

It’s tough to find,

Motivation to write

And I

experienced this many days at a time

my mind became clogged

my struggles were hard

so I called upon God

my strength

he nourish my soul with his food

holy and true

from that day forward, yes I knew

I had the proof

My words were inspired

And spoken too

I NEED C-H-I  P-O-T  L-E

I NEED C-H-I  P-O-T  L-E

Verse 1

I get a little better

now and then when I remember

that I was meant to eat

meant to dream

meant become alive inside

every time I take a bite its like

heaven in the palm of my hand

I just wanna da, da, do little dance

But I get overtaken

the smell of the barbacoa that their makin’

yeah, yeah, you know it’s my favorite

It’s like I’m at church, cuz I’m amazed and

The best part is it’s hardly fadin’

This taste stays on my brain

For days and days

Chipotle seems to pave a way

to a better world in a burrito way

bridge

I get a little better when I taste it

I get a little better when they make it

Chorus

gotta get It, gotta get it, gotta get it now

gotta get It, gotta get it, gotta get it now

gotta get It, gotta get it, gotta get it now

gotta get  it gotta get it now

Verse 2

Right, now, I’m in a rush cuz

This summer I fell in love with

A supreme being wrapped in silver

She’s worth a million, bucks

But only costs 5

Plus she fills my appetite…

Chips on the side and I’m more than fine

But if you think we married

Your wrong

There’s no ring on my hand

I’m not Budd Nerone

She just feeds my soul and makes me strong

Enhances my ability to live on

And sometimes I can’t find the words

To express my urge

But I need some

Cheese, rice, beans, and sour cream

I crave steak and feel more complete, just

Roll it in a tortilla

Fresh with heat

Yeah!

Bridge

Chorus

Dance Breakdown

I get a little better when I taste it

I get a little better when they make it

I get a little better when you say it

I know I’m better when I ate it
